iRobot Roomba Robot Vacuum

Pros
- very small and takes up a small amount of space
- does an excellent job cleaning the carpet

Cons
- need to clean the brushes and filters every hour sometimes less if there is a lot of pet hair
- disappointed that I did not purchase the docking recharger so it would automatically recharge itself without me having to plug it back in
- rather noisy and so I must turn it on when I am on my way out or will not be using the room being vacuumed.

I purchased a Roomba I-robot vacuum about six months ago. I have had many vacuums over the years and have been very discouraged with most of them. Overall, the Roomba I-robot has been wonderful, I have half my home covered in wood, and the other half is carpet. I have two dogs and a cat that leave pet hair everywhere. I keep the Roomba plugged in and charging at all time. I did not purchase the docking device, due to the cost, so I run the Roomba about once a week. I section off the part of the house I want vacuumed and turn it on. It lets me know when the filter and brushes need to be cleaned out. The suction is fantastic, such that it picks up all the pet hairs I have. It is very lightweight. When it gets full, I easily pick it up turn it over and clean out the filter and brushes, with a plastic brush cleaner that it came with, in addition it came with a cord recharger and a device that sends a beam so that you can section off what ever part of the house you do not want the vacuum to go past. I paid approximately one hundred and fifty dollars for the vacuum, I bought it through the online shopping Wal-Mart store, I did quite a bit of comparison-shopping before the purchase, and I got a great deal.
