Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews

Hoover is a brand name best associated with vacuum cleaners not only because it is the first company to come up with these helpful machines but also because of the impressive qualities of its home-cleaning equipment. What asthmatic janitor James Spangler invented to help make cleaning easier and more bearable eventually became the vacuum cleaner that somehow took the world by storm.

Though Spangler is credited with the invention of the modern vacuum cleaner, this range of home appliance got its name from Susan and W.H. “Boss” Hoover. Hoover then marketed the appliance by allowing interested home owners to use it for 10 days. By the start of 1909, 372 units had been sold. In 1919, Hoover appliances were being shipped across the Atlantic and into countries such as France, Norway, and Belgium.

Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Technology

Many improvements had been made on the improvised cleaner that Spangler first made back then. After Spangler sold the rights to Hoover, he was still kept on-board and even designed newer models. One notable technology the company had developed is the Positive Agitation Technology.

Vacuums with Positive Agitation Technology clean effectively by having a beater bar for surface cleaning. It then alternates with brushes to sweep up the dirt.

The Hoover Headlite also caused a sensation as it was the first to have an illumination device in vacuum cleaners. This accessory allowed users to see the dirt on the surface ahead of the cleaner so they would know where to clean next. Hard to reach and dark places, such as spaces underneath heavy furniture, were also illuminated so users can get to them and clean them more easily.

Another exceptional technology that Hoover has used on its vacuum cleaners is the Dial-A-Matic Technology. This was used for the first clean-air upright vacuum cleaner that drives the dirt first into the dirt bag before expelling air that has been filtered and cleaned. Many other brands imitated this method in their cleaners.

Types of vacuums

Hoover produced quite a number of different types of vacuum cleaners over the years. Uprights, canisters, lightweights, cordless, and even steamer types are just a few of the many types of vacuums that users can choose from depending on their needs and tastes.

Key features of Hoover Vacs

Hoover vacuum cleaners are equipped with an array of impressive features that set them apart from other vacuum brands that are currently in the market. The first Hoover vacuums invented by Spangler were different from the other machines in his time because of its Positive Agitation Technology.

The beater bar in this contraption allowed for more effective cleaning of even the densest carpets or rugs. This beater bar works best with the special brushes that line the mouths of upright vacuum cleaners, sweeping the collected dirt effectively.

Hoover vacuums have also employed filters to catch even the tiniest specks of dust, dirt, and allergens. HEPA filters are special kinds of sieves that trap dust particles that may cause respiratory and even skin ailments.

Hoover vacuums are also very easy to use as users can adjust the height of these machines depending on their preference. Though these vacuum cleaners are heavy-duty, they are very quiet to operate.

Hoover Vacuums Top products

Though Hoover produces quite a number of competent appliances, there are a few models that consumers consider the top cleaners from this brand.

In 1968, Hoover introduced the first vacuum cleaner that could clean other surfaces aside from the floor. The Convertible Model 65 (also called the De Luxe 652 in the UK ) was the first vacuum cleaner that had the Automatic Shift Technology to allow it to change settings when used on different surfaces. The Convertible used to be Hoover's best-selling product until the domestic line for this cleaner was ceased in the 1970s.

The Hoover U5468-900 Windtunnel Supreme Bagged Upright Vacuum is of the many home-cleaning equipment that caught the fancy of many users with its astounding features. This upright vacuum cleaner has the Windtunnel Technology that effectively seeks out dirt and filters it to give out clean air.

It also has a technology that allows it to identify whether a surface is wet or dry so that users can adjust the settings. This Hoover has the bag up front so it's easier to reach when users want to discard of it. Tools and nozzles are also stored in a space upfront.

The Hoover U5172-900 Fold Away Widepath Bagless Upright Vacuum is another popular model. It is a bagless type of cleaner. Users won't have to buy refills or bother changing the bag when it's full. It's also very convenient to store as it folds up into a compact unit that can be easily put away in a small closet or space.
