Hoover S3825

- Long 25 foot per cord.
- Pretty quiet.

- Little suction.
- Messy to clean out dust.

We purchased the Hoover S3825 Elite Cyclonic Canister Vacuum Cleaner because it was on sale at Sears and the salesman told us what a great name Hoover is in the industry regarding quality etc. This was our first large vacuum cleaner we have ever purchased new and thought we were buying quality. While the Hoover Vacuum did ok their were a number of things that we were not happy about.

First was the lack of a real suction on the vacuum cleaner . We have a dog that sheds a lot of hair and had hoped that the Hoover would be able to pick up the dog hairs with out a problem. Unfortunately that was not the case and it is very ineffective in sucking up dog hairs. The other item I didn’t like so much was the emptying of the container as it seemed their was no way of doing this without some dust coming out.

I would think they need to reengineer this aspect of the vacuum as its very frustrating every time the unit needs to be emptied. On the plus side the Hoover Elite has very simple and easy to use controls and is very quiet in its operation. I do like the longer length of the cord, I believe it is 25 feet, as it makes using the Hoover a little easier through out the house as you dont need to replug it in every 10 steps.

I also like the light on the front of the power nozzle as it makes going into darker areas much better and one can see where to vacuum etc. The Sears salesman was very helpful when he sold the unit to me and when I told him I was a litle disappointed he told me to call Hoover. I did call Hoover and while they listened they didnt really offer any type of repair or much of anything. I was impressed with HEPA filter as it seems to do a very good job and so far we have not had to replace it.
