Pros
- Washable filters
- Uses 33% less energy
Cons
- Filters and foam get dirty very quickly
- Accessories don’t stay attached to vacuum very well, easy to lose
I have been a fan of Eureka vacuums since I bought “The Boss” in 1996. This brand has always excelled at suction and price. When it was time for a new vacuum, I immediately started looking for a Eureka. The things that attracted me to the Envirovac were its cost savings in the long run. First, it consumes 33% less energy than a regular upright vacuum.
Secondly, it is bagless – more cost savings. Third, the filters are washable! Most bagless vacuums have filters that have to be replaced every 6 months. With the Envirovac, I can wash the filters and continue to get the same great performance over and over. Another great feature of the Envirovac is the attachments.
The hose is long and flexible and good for reaching hard to reach places. There is a brush that is good for cleaning curtains, blinds, and A/C vents. As well, the “Power Paw” is essential for anyone who has carpeted staircases. The Power Paw has a setting for both horizontal and vertical vacuuming – no more acrobatics to get at the fronts of those stairs.
The best part of the Envirovac is the suction. This is one of the most powerful vacuum cleaners I have ever used. Even if you think your carpet is clean, you can run the Envirovac across it, and it will pull out some deep, set in dirt and dust. You can feel how powerful the suction is from this vacuum, and you can see it in its canister.
There are few downsides to the Envirovac; one being the weight. While not too heavy, it is difficult to maneuver when vacuuming staircases. The filters get dirty very quickly; I guess this could be seen as a good thing. But if you don’t wash the filters regularly, it will impact the performance of the cleaner. Overall, I believe the Eureka Envirovac to be the BEST vacuum cleaner on the market today.
