Dyson DC25 All Floors These days, it seems as if the traditional bagged vacuum cleaner is almost impossible to find. All the vacuums out there seem to be bagless. Now some argue that bagless is a good thing and it creates less waste, but considering that the past two vacuums that I’ve owned were bagless and both of them eventually lost suction and I would have to go over the same area two or three times just to get them to pick up what I was originally trying for, I have not been too happy with bagless vacuum cleaners.

Enter the Dyson DC25. I saw the commercial for this on TV, with the ball technology, and thought that it was a very neat and original concept. I had also been wanting to buy a Dyson, so this was the proverbial “icing on the cake”. When I first got this home, it took maybe fifteen to twenty minutes to put it together, but if you’re pretty mechanically inclined or are good with instructions, you shouldn’t have a problem.

Once together, it looks pretty simple and practical considering it’s supposedly one of the most advanced vacuums on the market. The first time I used it, I went over my entire apartment three times and it was still picking stuff up out of the carpet that my other vacuum wouldn’t even touch. The wand assembly is very innovative, in my opinion, and collapses down into the hose to become the handle itself.

It only comes with two accessories, three if you count that the brush built to slide down the crevice wand. It’s also pretty light considering the other Dyson’s but not as light as some traditional vacuums. It also has a washable HEPA filter that filters out all of those nasty allergens in your air and it’s supposed to last a lifetime. But the main feature, I believe, is the ball technology.

When you depress the latch with your foot to release the handle, the part of the machine that the vacuum stands on disengages and everything drops onto the ball allowing you to maneuver exceptionally well with little effort to push and turn. Now let’s get to the good versus the bad. There are many good things that I can think of and little to no bad, but if I had to choose, I’d probably say that this vacuum’s pros are it’s innovative design and ability to not loose suction where others have failed.

Cons would be it’s price, which if you’re fine with dropping $500-$550 (All floors is $500, Dyson also offers the Animal for $50 more which is for the homeowner with pets, especially shedding ones) on keeping the dust bunnies at bay, then that’s not a problem. For me, this was one of the bad things, but I went in knowing how much Dyson’s cost anyways. Another bad thing I’ve found is the wand. Although it’s innovative and gets rid of the whole, “hose bend back cramps”, it’s still quite long, so if you have ceiling fans and you don’t have cathedral ceilings, you might want to watch out taking the wand out.

Pros
- Maneuverability
- Suction Power

Cons
- Expensive price
- Orange ball color (would prefer pink or blue!).

The upright Dyson Ball DC25 is by far the best vacuum cleaner I have ever used and owned. Not only is it simple and easy to operate, it works on any surface and has the best suction and cleaning power. With the convenient ball feature, the vacuum moves freely in any direction – not just forward and backwards. This makes getting under furniture and around obstacles very easy and it makes vacuuming more fun.

The extension arm and two additional add on accessories are great for reaching up to ceiling fans, vacuuming pet hair off of floor boards and even vacuuming the curtains! I often use my Dyson Ball to vacuum pet hair off of my sectional suede couch and pillows too.

Find a dead roach? Grab the Dyson Ball! Cat leave you a hairball? Grab the Dyson Ball! This vacuum cleaner is great for everything, even hardwood or kitchen floors. It’s super easy to clean, maintain and empty with just the click of a button! The Dyson website and customer service team are also always helpful and there for you when you need any help or have any questions. I would definitely recommend this vacuum cleaner!
