I have had this vacuum for 4 years–the longest I have had any vacuum. I am constantly amazed at how clean it gets my carpet–and disgusted by the amount of stuff in the canister…is my floor really that dirty?! Thank goodness it has the suction power it does to get all that out of my carpet! We have the original Dyson, not the pet one, and it still cleans pet hair amazingly well.

The telescopic feature works very well to get along baseboards, in corners, ceilings, etc. Because the telescopic tube is so long, it makes cleaning steps easy, and the whole vacuum is not heavy to carry up steps. I love the fact that I have never had any issues with the belt. The “beater brush” area has needed cleaned, but it is so easy to do. The vacuum comes apart in so many places, making it extremely easy to clean…and goes back together in seconds.

I do forget to clean the filter, but it, too, is very easy to do. I keep expecting it to break down at any point, because all my previous vacuum cleaners lost suction or broke after a couple years, but it is still going strong, has not lost any suction at all. There have been times when things such as bobby pins, ear ring backs, etc., have been sucked up and they are easily retrievable through the side access areas that come apart.

While this vacuum is very expensive and you do have some dust lost when emptying the canister, I feel that the strong suction power and the ease maintenance are well worth the price and outweigh the negative.

I have a Dyson vacuum that was purchased at Walmart approximately 8 months ago. It is an upright model which came with several attachments and has a bare floor setting in addition to multiple carpet heights. This is a bag-less model, so there is no added expense of bags, and a hepa filter is included to reduce the allergens spread by vacuuming.

I love it! The suction is very good, and we have no problems getting up the animal hair our pets leave around our home. One of the nicest features is its telescoping handle. The handle comes out of the top of the vacuum and the wand with attachments can be used up to 15 feet away from the main body of the vacuum.

This feature comes in very handy for stair work because I can leave the vacuum at the bottom of the stairs. This is so much easier than trying to hold onto the upright while cleaning the stairs. I also use this to reach at cobwebs in the high ceilings.

The canister is very easy to empty, just pushing a button on the top releases a bottom catch and the collected dirt falls right out. Although any Dyson is costly, it comes with an excellent warranty, of 5 years for parts and labor. I believe that this is one of the best warranties in the industry.

The Dyson is such a great vacuum, overall, it is far better then any other I have used. The suction is amazing, even after it’s full, it still keeps going. I can clean everything from A/C vents to behind the couch. I even use it to get the bits of trash that fall between the washer and dryer.

It’s light enough to carry to and from the car one handed as I often need to being a maid. It’s great for both home and work since it’s so easy to clean and empty. I can take out the canister and empty it one handed with just a push of a button.

My Dyson comes with 3 attachments that go on and of easily but the best part is the hose itself which stays in place when not in use. The hose reaches over half way up a staircase so I don’t have to hold the vacuum in one hand as I clean the staircase. It cleans both carpet and bare floors and can switch between the two with one simple turn of a switch which you can even do with your foot (no hands required!)

Although I consider the price on the high side (about $400), it is worth the cost and Dyson offers a 5 year warranty. Compared to Oreck or other costly name brand vacuums, the Dyson is a very fair price and is very compact with all the attachments right there on the vacuum.

I love my Dyson DC14! When we first bought the vacuum I was skeptical that it was really worth the $400 that we paid for it. In the store, I talked to another Dyson owner who said they never regretted buying one, but I was still worried that it wasn’t worth the price. When I got home, I cleaned a room with my old vacuum and then went back over the same area with the new Dyson…

I was sick by what my old vacuum was actually leaving behind. I now tell all my friends about Dyson and not to blink about the price tag. I like the fact that it is light and the canister is easily dumped out. The only negatives I can think of would be the cost and the fact that the suction is so strong that it is hard to clean small rugs and door mats.

Right now, my sister and I are renting house while we’re both in college and between us we have four adoring, friendly cats – long-haired cats, of course. How, exactly, we wound with four is still something of a mystery, but it means there is a never-ending supply of cat hair and litter tracks, well, about everywhere in the house. Our landlady is really nice about it, but we absolutely MUST keep the place almost spotlessly clean and that includes all the fur.

She’s been known to just drop by on occasion with some remarks that seemed to have an undertone of disdain and disapproval despite almost daily vacuuming, so we immediately went on the prowl for a bigger, better, more powerful vacuum than the old beat up one we “inherited” from our aunt. It was a nice gesture and all, but we needed something more. We got several recommendations for a Kirby or Rainbow, but those things are considerably out of our price range.

They’re great machines, but too expensive. After much searching and getting a whole lot of demonstrations from very eager salesmen, we finally decided on the Dyson DC14. At the top of list is the fact that it does, indeed, provide more suction than most that pulls up more cat hair and litter than any of the others we tested. I was so amazed!

I can move it across low Berber carpet, thick pile, artificial turf in the sun room and the linoleum in the kitchen with seamless transitions! We even sweep the linoleum then just vacuum it up! There’s no bag either! I hate changing those things because it seems like everything you just pulled up goes “poof” right back into the air from which it came. Not with the Dyson.

The collection container slips off easily and there’s not a lot of dust flying about. The single ball mechanism is pretty much like they show on the commercials, too. It really does move so much easier around turns instead of backing up and then forward and back and forward…you get the idea. The Dyson just – glides! The biggest disappointment of the Dyson has got to be the accessories. Sadly, the upholstery head and the angled head don’t seem to fit well onto the hose, so no matter how great the suction, there seems to be gap and I have to reaffix the tip.

Also, the belts and gears could be a bit better quality because we’ve had to have some little thing realigned, readjusted or replaced 3 or 4 times in the year we’ve had it, but since we use it so much, it’s been a small price to pay to keep our landlady happy. Dyson customer service hasn’t also been as understanding or cooperative, but we eventually get through their little attitudes. Again, the DC14 is really a remarkable vacuum and I’d recommend it to just about anyone, especially to anyone with pets!

When shopping for a vacuum cleaner about 4 years ago, I was looking for one that I did not have to worry about changing bags. In the past, I have found that bag models tend to start smelling strange over time, regardless of whether you change the bag…it is like they trap odors. This is worse if you have pets.

Plus you have to worry about whether the bag is too full and remember to buy replacement bags…which can be a bit expensive. At the time I purchased my Dyson about 4 years ago, it was the premiere bagless vacuum option. Because of my happiness and reliability I experience with the Dyson I have had no reason to shop for a new vacuum cleaner, so I am not even aware of other options that might be available today.

The Dyson is easy to use, effective, and lightweight. When I am done cleaning, I can remove the cannister with a simple click of a button. Another button releases the bottom of the canister, dumping all of the waste into a trash can..it is very quick and simple. Additionally, many of the tools provided are quite effective.

They are all stored in easy accessible places on the vacuum cleaner. The one thing that might deter people from buying a Dyson is the relatively large sticker price. Overall, although this vacuum cleaner may have a high price tag, it is worth the cost for an easy, highly effective, highly reliable vacuum cleaner. I have had absolutely no problems with the Dyson in the 4+ years that I have owned it.

I received my Dyson DC14 as an anniversary gift two years ago. I really wanted one because it was supposed to be great for people who have extreme allergies and asthma. It’s been wonderful!

I think it’s the best vacuum I have ever owned and I have had it for two years now! The hose has gotten ripped twice and every time I have called Dyson customer service they have been spectacular!

They send me a new hose every time with no charge for shipping or handling or for the product! The suction on this vacuum is wonderful. I never lose suction ever.

It’s true! I have never owned a vacuum that hasn’t lost suction when the bad is full. The canister could be almost full and the suction is still as powerful as an empty canister. The HEPA Filter on the Dyson DC14 works great.

All the attachments for the hose are on board and ready to use whenever you need them! You can also adjust the height of the vacuum is you are shorter or taller to make it easier on your back. I love that since SOMETIMES my husband vacuums and he is 6 foot 4.Over all I think this vacuum is wonderful and I will always purchase Dyson from here on out!
