Pros
- versatility in use
- easy to clean/empty

Cons
- tends to overheat, needing to shut off intermittently
- very noisy

We own a very large, professional-grade vacuum cleaner that you’d expect to be used for commercial purposes, so you would assume it would be great for our household needs. It’s not. The reason being, the larger vacuum requires plenty of maintenance, weighs several pounds and is very bulky.

This makes it all the more difficult to clean the stairways of the house. I ended up purchasing the Dirt Devil Vision Canister initially just so we could easily access and give a basic cleaning to our carpeted stairways. The model is very light, able to roll on our floors without scratching the wood surface and has a handle for lifting and carrying while accessing harder to reach areas – like the stairways.

The surprising feature about this Dirt Devil was how well it really cleaned. There was so much power in this little item; we ended up using this cleaner more often than the “high quality” one around the house. The attachments were the best feature: in particular, the floor nozzle which effortlessly attaches to the 31 inch telescopic wand.

The wand is easily manipulated and the re tractability of it allows reach into deep crevices without straining yourself. This was especially useful in cleaning the spider webs in the corners and recesses of our ceilings as well as the carpeting and upholstery of our two cars. The extra long 20 foot cord made for easy connection and extension to our outside electrical outlet.

Although there are other useful attachments such as the carpet nozzle allows cleaning our area rugs as well, the strength lies with smaller areas for carpeting and larger flat surfaced areas for general cleaning (works great on vacuuming up dog hairs as well).
