Pros
- Very easy to use with all of the accessories you could possibly ever need.
- Very powerful – It seems to clean absolutely anything we put it near…even over-zealously trying to suck our curtains up the hose pipe!

Cons
- It is a very expensive vacuum cleaner so it might be out of everyone’s budget.
- Some of the units Dyson make do have quite garish colours!

We bought the Dyson DC25 Animal seven months ago and are very happy with its’ operation. Our old vacuum cleaner had started to lose suction, break regularly and get stuck trying to run over mats and lino. The new vacuum cleaner is excellent at removing any pet hair, mud, gravel and other muck that regularly get dragged about the house as well being really easy to clean. Our main lounge carpet now looks a different colour and has some of its’ old luster back which we hadn’t seen for a while! We also like the fact that it has different tools and adjustments for easily cleaning bathroom or kitchen floors as well – making it quicker to get the job done.

The vacuum cleaner does get full very quickly however, which either meant that I kept a dirty house or that it was very good at what it does. The bin was a little awkward to empty and meant that I sprayed a load of dust all of myself as the catch was a bit clumsy to open. I think that was first time clumsiness and that it won’t happen again. The cleaner was also quite heavy to lift up and down the stairs and also for awkward spots like around doors in our porch. For such a small device it was surprising how heavy it actually is but I guess that’s how much stuff they’ve crammed in to it.

I think the deal that I got when I bought was brilliant though as we got a 5 year’s manufacturers warranty which persuaded us to purchase the device over others, irrespective of the price differential above other vacuum cleaners. Overall we think that the vacuum cleaner was a really good purchase.

Pros
- Easy to use, very ergonomic.
- So far, after 1+ years of use, has not lost suction.

Cons
-Very expensive for a vacuum cleaner.
- The extension cord is difficult to use.

The Dyson DC25 is extremely easy to assemble and use. It lives up to its reputation of being ergonomic, and the ‘ball’ makes turning and corners much simpler than with standard vacuum cleaners. I was also nicely impressed with its ability to run over cords (speaker and electrical in my case) with ease. The suction was decent, and stood up to our two cats and dog (dog and 1 cat are short-hair, other cat is medium) but not up to the hype (I’ve seen better suction in cheaper vacuum cleaners, but this one seems to not lose it over the long run) and the cost is a bit on the high side (I paid 460.00 after tax with the vacuum cleaner on sale).

The extension cord is not as easy to use as the main part of the vacuum cleaner, and is the Dyson DC25′s most significant flaw. The storage capacity on the main unit holds about enough to finish a standard 15×15 room before the bin will need to be emptied. Cleaning the filter and bin is straight forward and easy, however, if you live in a humid environment as I do (southeastern Florida), it may take longer than the 24 hours the instructions recommend to dry the filter once you have rinsed it out. (Mine usually takes between 24-36 hours). The warranty on this vacuum cleaner is a 5 year complete replacement and according to Dyson they will replace the vacuum cleaner if it loses suction.

Pros
- great sucking power
- lightweight

Cons
- clogs
- more expensive than comparable vacuums

This review is for the Dyson DC25 ball all-floor vacuum. I purchased this on eBay and have been using it for approximately six months. It has great sucking power, and I love the corner attachment that is easily stored in the handle. This vacuum is extremely light and easy to maneuver around tight spots.

It’s also very low-profile and it’s easy to fit the head under the sofa. The noise level is also significantly lower than other vacuums I’ve used in the past; it’s still loud (it IS a vacuum, after all), but you don’t get that nasty ringing in your ears after you’ve finished vacuuming the house! Dyson has managed to integrate some nice noise-reduction into this vacuum.

Pretty much the only complaint that I have about this vacuum is that it gets clogged if you suck up anything larger than a twist tie or a paper clip. I’m talking serious clogs here, where you need to take the vacuum to the repair guy and pay him $75 to extract the clog, not the kind that you can clear yourself. So, if you have children scattering large debris around, this might not be the vacuum for you.

However, it’s great as long as you’re keeping your eyes open for any large pieces that you should pick up by hand. I feel that for the price paid ($399.00) I got a very good vacuum. The price was a bit higher than what we’d originally budgeted for, but we’ve never had significant problems with it and this is the only vacuum we foresee needing in the future. To sum up:

Pros
- the rollerball and ease of usage
- the incredible suction

Cons
- stair cleaning capabilities

I love this vacuum. Not only is it very lightweight and can be carried upstairs with one hand, but it has a flexible rollerball that allows me to get under lower surfaces like table legs and under the kitchen cupboards, and even under the refrigerator. It has great suction, never had any problems, and cleans even when my carpets seem like they don’t need to be vacuumed. There is also a wand that is expandable from the handle and it cleans the ceiling, so great for cobwebs.
