Pros
- Strong suction power
- dual filtration

Cons
- Overpriced
- pet removal “gadgets”

When I purchased this vacuum, I had great hope for a wonderful new tool in housecleaning. A friend and I each purchased this Bissell vacuum on a shopping trip together. Our purchases were motivated by the fact that she already had a Bissell vacuum cleaner (without all the extra bells and whistles) which she highly recommended for its strong suction power.

My hopes were quickly dashed however. The vacuum has a drop-down Velcro-like strip in front of the power head to assist with pet hair pick-up. Unfortunately, I quickly found that the vacuum bogged down with this strip in place and it had to be raised into the up position for the power head to work properly. The suction power of the Bissell vacuum is quite strong with its 12 amp motor, and out cleaned my previous bagless, a lower line Sears model.

The tools were very flashy, with all kinds of rubber fingers and adapters to assist with pet hair removal. They work fairly well, but not significantly better than a regular brush tool. The higher suction power may help with the removal somewhat. I was also disappointed with the capacity of the dirt bin; and I find it must be emptied multiple times during a routine two room vacuuming. I do like the dual HEPA filter and I believe it has helped cut down on the amount of dust redeposited in the room during vacuuming. Overall, I feel this vacuum works well; but it is overpriced in its class.

Pros
- great suction
- the cost

Cons
- the weight of the machine
- the need to change out the belts

I currently own the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum cleaner. I bought this vacuum cleaner because I have five cats, two rabbits, and two really messy zebra finch birds! My cats shed so much fur that it is in the air, on the furniture and gets all over our clothes. The rabbits shed so much that they are under the same category as the cats! The birds just drop a lot of seeds.

This vacuum cleaner has really good suction and the attached hose is really good to pick up those seeds from the birds. The price was about One Hundred and Sixty which wasn’t so bad and it is a little heavy so I don’t suggest this to anyone who can’t lift. It has a cyclone type action with a special pet hair lifter which works really well at picking up the cat and rabbit hair.

Overall, I am happy with my Bissell and any pet owner would like the quality of this vacuum cleaner. The belt replacement will only cost about three dollars and the motor filter is only about eleven dollars.
